CrossFit Open 26.2: Finally… Gymnastics
After the engine test of 26.1, 26.2 finally brought the gymnastics.
And very quickly one movement defined the workout.
Ring muscle ups.
If you had them, the workout moved.
If you did not, this is where scores stalled.
Here are three things that actually decided 26.2.
1. Ring Muscle Up Capacity
The real separator.
Athletes with consistent muscle ups kept the workout flowing. Everyone else lost serious time here.
Even small sets made a difference.
Decider: Gymnastics capacity.
2. Early Pacing
Many athletes pushed the opening work too hard.
Then arrived at the gymnastics already fatigued.
The best scores stayed controlled early so they could attack the separator.
Decider: Positioning before the rings.
3. Transitions
Same reps. Different times.
Small delays between movements added up across the workout.
Picking up the dumbbell. Adjusting grips. Moving to the rig.
The smoothest athletes saved the most time.
Decider: Seconds between movements.
Where VOLT Came In
26.2 constantly switched between dumbbell work and gymnastics.
This is where MagnaSafe™ proved useful.
Athletes could move from dumbbell snatches straight into any gymnastics movement, then back into dumbbell overhead lunges, without wasting time sorting grips.
No fumbling. No delays.
Just smooth transitions between movements.
Because in workouts like 26.2, seconds matter.
